If you are considering attending classes at École Suisse, stop considering and just do it!! The experience is exceptional. Each teacher brings their own personal touch to the classroom, and the variety of perspectives makes for a lively and engaging learning environment. Teachers rotate through, and the focus for each day rotates too (but builds on what came the day before), so each day is slightly different in tone. This means you are never without something to keep your mind engaged and curious. There is a clear focus on conversation, and I am certain my conversational ability improved ten-fold because of my time engaging with the teachers and other students at the school. Not a day went went by without both laughter and rigor… learning in this environment is just so fun and rewarding!
I also took two hours of private lessons each week, which were wonderful because here we got to focus on specific areas of interest and concern. I studied French for two weeks in September 2024, at the beginner level. I highly recommend the school to anyone who wants to learn French!
I had studied foreign languages before, including at university in Sweden, but I never felt like I had truly learned to speak — which I definitely did here. The focus is on active language learning, and French is spoken from day one, even at the beginner level, which is excellent for learning.
The group was small, which meant that everyone was constantly involved. I combined group classes in the morning with private lessons in the afternoon, which was a great arrangement.
Compared to other language courses I’ve taken, this one was by far the best. The teachers are highly skilled, dedicated, and helpful, and the atmosphere at the school is very welcoming. I had a wonderful time at the school and would love to go back! (September 2024)

Over the years I tried out several language courses in the heart of Paris, but none of them marked me like this. I tried to book a class, level C 1, and at this time there weren’t any other students my level. So the principle sat down with me to build a special program where we transformed a regular group course into private lessons, a perfect offer, by the way. Furthermore, they let me completely choose and create my own schedule, waited for my wishes + suggestions and from there found the perfect teacher for every one of my preferred topics. In my case they gave me a complete insight in the french culture, including literature, cinema, poetry, theatre, philosophy, gastronomy, songwriting + music with specialists on each subject, leaving me with a different, perfectly prepared, prof every day. Another student from Istanbul was there to study architecture + interior design, same thing, they found someone to exactly fit her professional needs!
I’d like to add, how I talked to practically all the international students present at that moment, and every single one declared how happy and thrilled they were with the class, courses, teachers, excursions offered every week and the facilities inside this school, which really is located in the heart of Paris!
Every Wednesday we went out to visit different expositions, art galleries .. included in your course. The familiar atmosphere and the large space inside makes it super easy to socialize and meet new friends from all over the world. Also the teachers are always around to help + to even upgrade your experience! A large library where you will find practically every genre, including tourist guides, proverbs, semantic insights, free coffee and a large space to work on your projects.
Hard not to notice, I was absolutely thrilled by my experience and I thank those guys for a fantastic stay, for transmitting the french culture with such fun and profound insight and for always being at hand for whatsoever questions and wishes.

Who can enrol?
École Suisse Internationale in Paris welcomes all learners aged 18 and over (or from age 17 under specific conditions).
Where do lessons take place?
Our private French lessons are held on-site at our school, located at:
10 rue des Messageries, 75010 Paris – in the 10th arrondissement.

Flexible start dates
All of our French language programmes are available throughout the year (excluding school closures). You can start any week you like.

Yes! Our French courses in Paris are available all year round. You can enrol any week and begin your lessons the following Monday (except during scheduled school closures).
How much does a private French lesson in Paris cost?
At École Suisse Internationale, the fee for one-to-one French lessons is €75 per hour for fewer than 9 hours, and €65 per hour for 9 hours or more. Discounts apply for longer commitments.
How are the teachers selected?
All of our French teachers are native speakers and fully qualified in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE). They each have several years of experience teaching international students of various backgrounds and proficiency levels.
Should I choose in-person or online lessons?
That depends on your availability and learning style. In-person lessons are especially effective for practising spoken French in real-life settings. What level can I achieve with your courses?
That depends on your starting level and goals. On average, it takes 1 to 2 months to move up one level. If you have a specific objective (such as passing the DELF or DALF), we’ll work with you to create a learning plan that fits your timeline and expectations.
