DISCOVERY OF PARIS: Walk along the canal

Canal Saint Martin La Villette

This week, we headed north of Paris. We walked along the St Martin canal (located 10 minutes from the Swiss School) and took advantage of the mild winter weather to take an interest in its history. Built at the beginning of the 19th century to supply the city with drinking water and transport goods by boat to the capital, the canal is now a place for walking, picnics and tourist cruises. And this afternoon, there were even fishermen!
