Located approximately at 300 km from Paris and 250 km from Switzerland, Dijon sits at the east of the Burgundian region and is its capital. It is a medium size city with 150’000 inhabitants. However, Dijon comes 18th among the top French towns and 8th among French metropolis where the quality of life is the best.
Past city of the Dukes of Burgundy, Dijon offers to the visitor its rich historical and cultural past. Some architectural wonders from the medieval age and the renaissance still subsist. Nowadays, it is a great cultural, economical and touristic metropolis.
The Burgundian region and its capital is well known around the round for its numerous gastronomic specialties: mustard, snails, wine or blackcurrant are just some examples.
